How many levels of plan are there in PRINCE2?
PRINCE2 recommends using three levels of plan - project, stage, and team - to reflect the different management levels involved in a project. These levels correspond to the directing level (the project board), the managing level (the project manager), and the delivering level (the team manager).
The project boards requires a high-level view of the project and uses the project plan to monitor progress. The project manager requires a more detailed view of each stage, and uses the stage plan to monitor progress. A team manager requires a detailed view of the work package being executed by their team. This can be seen in a team plan.
By using these different levels of planning, PRINCE2 helps ensure that all aspects of the project are properly considered and managed, from the overall direction of the project to the day-to-day work of the team.
