What are the qualifications for a program manager?

There are 2 main program management qualifications. PgMP® from the Project Management Institite (PMI)® and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) from AXELOS.

In terms of difficulty, the PgMP® qualification is harder to get because it requires several years of prior program management experience as well as a degree and passing the examination.

On the other hand, MSP has no prerequisites requiring prior experience or degrees. MSP simply requires the candidate to pass the relevant examinations.

"PMI" and "PgMP" are registered marks of Project Management Institute, Inc.
