The Swansea train station is about a fifteen-minute walk from the Swansea bus station. Swansea services call at Llanelli, Carmarthen, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Tenby, Pembroke Dock, and Fishguard Harbour to the west, Shrewsbury to the northeast via the Heart of Wales Line with four trains each way Monday–Saturday, and Cardiff Central, Newport, Bristol Parkway, Swindon, Reading, and London Paddington Transport for Wales Rail also serves suburban stations at Gowerton, Llansamlet, and Pontarddulais, as well as longer-distance services to Hereford, Shrewsbury, Crewe, and Manchester Piccadilly.

Swansea Airport

Swansea Airport is a little airport in the Gower that solely offers leisure flights. Local communities and environmental organisations are vehemently opposed to further airport development. Swansea is served by Cardiff Airport, 44 miles (71 km) east in the Vale of Glamorgan, which provides regular domestic and international flights. It takes around 40 minutes by car or 70 minutes by train to get there.

Sea

Swansea Marina, located south of the city centre, offers 410 leisure boat berths. An additional 200 leisure boat berths are located near the mouth of the river Tawe. More leisure boating berths are being built at the Prince of Wales Dock in the Swansea Docks complex. Associated British Ports owns and operates the Swansea Docks complex, which handles cargo ranging from agribulks and coal to lumber and steel. Swansea Docks comprises of three floating docks and a ferry terminal.

Bus and coach

First Cymru mostly operates bus lines in Swansea, however smaller bus, and coach operators such as NAT Group, South Wales Transport, Lewis Coaches, First Call Travel, and DANSA also run routes in the city, the majority of which service Swansea bus station. Swansea Metro, a road based FTR bus rapid transit line launched between Morriston Hospital and Singleton Hospital in 2009, is operated by First Cymru.
