Nottingham features two huge theatres, the Nottingham Playhouse, and the Theatre Royal, which constitute the Royal Centre with the nearby Royal Concert Hall. Smaller theatres in the city include the Nottingham Arts Theatre, the Lace Market Theatre, the New Theatre, and Nonsuch Studios.
Nottingham Playhouse is an English theatre located in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. It began as a repertory theatre in 1948, operating out of a disused cinema on Goldsmith Street. Val May and Frank Dunlop were among the directors currently. The new structure completed in 1963.
The Nottingham City Council owns the Theatre Royal, which is located at the center of Nottingham City Centre and is part of a complex that also contains the city’s Royal Concert Hall. Major touring dramas, opera, ballet, West End musicals, and an annual pantomime are all performed at the Theatre Royal.
